I am Gary Ogilvie, founder of https://www.pcrefix.co.uk/. Thank you for stopping by and for wanting to learn more about us.
I have nurtured a deep passion for IT and computer technology since an early age. From the moment I started playing around with computers at the age of five, I was captivated by their inner workings. What began as a hobby, breaking them and eventually working out how to fix them, soon turned into a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and expertise. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to share my skills with friends, family, and now, with you.
I started in the IT industry back in 2004 when I joined Personalised Travel Services in Waltham Abbey, Essex. While in a general data entry role, I quickly discovered my knack for IT. This led to an opportunity within the same company, where I dealt with basic SQL management, website data analysis, and domain name registration and maintenance.
In
2007 I established my own IT Training company.
From business management to providing IT-related training and support, I catered to a diverse range of students, guiding them through courses like ECDL to MCSE until
2011.
In 2008, I joined Banctec, a prominent company in Harlow, Essex. During my tenure, until 2010, I honed my skills in server maintenance, networking operations, domain management, and IT business support for the finance industry. Internally, I thrived in project implementation and even took charge of disaster recovery sites.
As the years rolled on, I seized opportunities wherever they presented themselves. From working as a freelancer for PC Callout between 2018 and 2019, offering home and small business call-out services (networking issues, computer crashes, software errors, data backup/retrieval, virus/malware removal), to serving as a field engineer at Allvotec from 2018 to 2020, specialising in service and installation of hardware and software (break/fix services, general computer and retail-related hardware (including EPOS), installation and troubleshooting of network devices).
Each experience was a chance to expand my knowledge and refine my skills which led to where we are today.
PC ReFix started in 2020 since we understand that technology plays a crucial role in today's world. We are passionate about solving IT problems, whether it's fixing networking issues, resolving computer crashes, troubleshooting software errors, or providing data backup and retrieval. Our expertise also extends to virus and malware removal, ensuring your systems remain secure.
I am proud to be CompTIA A+ certified, a testament to our expertise and commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry. Our dedication to continuous learning ensures that we provide the most up-to-date and effective solutions to our clients.
Since starting up, we have had the privilege of supporting various companies and individuals with their IT needs. Corporate Resources Recruitment Limited and Paramount Security Solutions Limited are just a couple of the organisations we have had the pleasure of assisting on multiple occasions. Through our partnership with a few companies, we now offer IT-related and break/fix services to the retail sector as a trusted sub-contractor.
